With all the little jobs to do before I head off, I am very thankful that I am not working this week. I have maintained a strict and regimented routine of eating, cardio and weight training which I find helps keep my head focused and on task. I work best with routine and a system that is for certain. A little (or long) afternoon nap to recharge the body certainly helps too.
Part of dieting for comp is the inevitable lack of sleep, despite being tired and physically drained. Insomnia goes hand in hand with the dieting process for me.Being able to get that nana-nap in the afternoon really make a huge amount of difference. It took me a long time to get my head around sleeping during the day, but after realising that it actually makes you more productive, helps burn fat and restore your immune and nervous system, well I try to get a nap after training most days whether dieting for a show or not. The Mediterranean lifestyle has merit and something we can all learn from.
Training is going well, bags are thankfully packed and yes I can fit everything in my modest suitcase. This is a feat of engineering excellence in itself and something I am quite proud of, as I usually have 6 pack and re-pack fiascos before hitting the correct balance between space and outfit selection.....its a chick thing!
A big thanks to Nick at the Clarendon Clinic, who administered the final pre-trip treatment yesterday, much to my joy...no needling done...more joy...all as it should be...more joy...feeling physically on top form! So final prep means a visit to
and Nail Safari in Port Melbourne and much to my rapturous joy I received my BSc pack yesterday with T-shirts and a very very handy bag(perfect for precious cargo-bikinis and such) to take on the plane with me.
I cant wait to sample the new BODY women's range when I get home, so this has been stored in a safe place ready for me...Berry flavours sound divine!
