FitX and IFBB Pro debut DONE!

What an eventful and busy weekend. The IFBB Amateur GP and Pro shows were all a success and FITX got more interest from the general public than many had anticipated. All in all, it was a great success. As with all big events there were minor teething issues but all involved should be very proud of their efforts and I urge all companies involved in the industry to book their stands now for next year because it is guaranteed to be bigger, badder and better and will only continue to go from strength to strength.

The Rokettes kicked off the weekend with a photo shoot at BODYOGRAHY in the city-makeup and studio were stunning- we all had such a fun morning, all in all each girl got 2 looks and we had 2 team looks, 4 hours and loads of laughter later and i am convinced our fantastic photographer Chris was left wondering what on earth he had signed up for...the results of the shoot are amazing however. What a blast! Our artists Holly and Lanie were wonderful and so great at their craft.

So to the shows, the Rokettes all looked amazing and it was so wonderful having the whole team join me for the pre show prep-hair/ makeup and coffees at 6am.

Leading into the pro-show I felt calm and ready for the day, excited but not nervy.

Raechelle Chase, Erin Stern, ME, Alicia Harris
backstage, finals, Ben Pakulski
Standing backstage with Erin Stern and Alicia Harris was very surreal, the vibe backstage was great- relaxed, jovial even. The expo stage was quite small so fitting the 11 strong lineup-yes the pro figure was bigger than the pro mens lineup which was awesome, was squishy but wow what an amazing experience. I do believe after i got off stage i said to Erin thank goodness that was done initial appearance as a pro down and that i felt ill...yep it all kinda dawned on me in one massive wave of nausea..after that passed i was fine. Funny how you can respond to certain situations...this was an adrenalin rush gone bad...but thankfully it was short lived.

The night show however, i had a great time, the Plenary theatre is an amazing venue, so wonderful backstage and the stage itself is fantastic. Even with the opening fireworks we got treated to and  (ALL of us on stage, even the guys nearly had heart attacks when they went off), I thought I was going to be wearing PAC-MAN he jumped back so far...120+kg landing on 45kg does not bode well for a happy result, for me!....

Final tally placed me 8th in the lineup, with top honors going to Erin Stern. It was a great way to debut as a pro, home town, Olympia champion as a competitor and apart of a ground breaking event for the Australian fitness scene.

So to new goals already in process, new training regimens set out and October but 7 months away. I have a trip to Weymouth (UK) and the Olympic village in the mix planned with Australias ONLY Olympic sailing chance, Krystal Weir, as well as some presentations planned with Juice Plus+ in the coming weeks. I am very much looking forward to incorporating some new training styles  and getting a wider variety into my cross training program; the next 7 months are going to be great fun and a huge challenge, cant wait.

I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone in Sydney for the Australasian titles on March 26th at the Cronulla Sharks Club.

For information on where I will be in April and May-presentations and camps please contact Jo MacKenzie for dates and details.

before I sign off, I have one last thing to say t everyone who came to FITX in my support. Sincerely and deeply I thankyou. To ALL those who made the effort to attend the show, many from interstate, I am truly grateful and very, very thankful to you all. It is your support and love of the sport that makes this such a wonderful experience for me, I love meeting you all and cant wait to see you all again next year....make of that what you will ;)
Be well, train hard
