Feminine Tatto, Like What?

feminine tattooAccording to wikipedia, the word 'feminine' refers to qualities and behaviors judged by a particular culture to be ideally associated with or especially appropriate to women and girls, Feminine also called womanliness. Distinct from femaleness, which is a biological and physiological classification concerned with the reproductive system, femininity principally refers to secondary sex characteristics and other behaviors and features generally regarded as being more prevalent and better suited to women, whether inborn or socialized.

Then, how woman should tattoo her body so that they keep their 'femininity'? Many women are now getting feminine tattoos and it's not just because they want to rebel against something. Feminine Tattoos are beautiful to look at and seem to provide a woman with extra confidence.

There is a "But" here, the tattoos need to look feminine and natural. I have seen women who were very slender and toned with large tattoos on their arms or back which looked completely out of place. When I asked them about their tattoos they usually say "I wish I had got a smaller one which didn't look so obvious".

Women
need to remember one important fact about getting a tattoo - Small is Feminine.

Here are some feminine tattoo design, it's from www.tattoojohnny.com.

In Loving Memory Tattoos for Woman

People often get tattoos to mark a defining moment in their life. A new job, getting married, and so on. However for many people life is not all happy and filled with joy there are deep moments of saddness and loss. Often people that have lost a loved one have a hard time letting go of that person and fear losing the memory of them. This has lead people for decades to get tattoos dedicated to their lost loved one.

in loving memory tattoo for womanKeep Feminine with Your In Loving Tattoo

In loving memory tattoos are a great tattoo because they are often filled with a very deep and personal meaning. They are not the type of tattoo that one gets on a whim but instead one that a person thinks about deeply before making the decision to get one. Often the symbols and particular of the tattoo design are carefully planned out before hand. The person seeking a tattoo in this style will think long and hard about the person they lost and often tries to come up with some way to represent them. Often these tattoos will feature a symbol or object that will represent the person. A person might get a dove to represent the lost loved one or some symbol that invokes a memory of them.

Kanji love tattoo symbolJapanese Kanji Tattoos are fast becoming the most popular tattoo design. Japanese Kanji characters are so incredibly artistic and have such mystique that it seems as though they were created ideally for the purpose of tattoos. When you think about the best qualities of a tattoo many words come to mind such as symbolic, mysterious, and meaning.

The beauty of Japanese Kanji tattoos is that each Kanji symbol is an ideographic character, which means is represents an entire object/meaning/symbol. Japanese Kanji symbols have such elaborate definition; each stroke of the symbol must be done in the correct direction and order. Japanese Kanji Tattoos can easily represent nearly any meaning you want. Words such as love, peace, freedom, strength, unity are very popular Japanese Kanji tattoos, as well as loved one's names.

Kanji tattoo symbols and tribal butterfly tattoo
Kanji tattoo symbols and tribal butterfly tattoo.

It is a good idea to research your Japanese Kanji Tattoo before visiting your tattoo artist. There are several reasons for this - firstly, Kanji is a different form of language to English, and if you were to choose a Kanji sentence, the order of the words will be in different order to English. Secondly, many tattoo parlors have Japanese Kanji tattoo designs which have been altered by westerners and you will not know until it is too late. Finally, some Japanese Kanji characters have several meanings, and you may think your symbol means one thing, where in fact it means something completely different. Luckily there are websites out there that can help you get the perfect translation.

Phoenix Tattoos

tattoo picture of a phoenix
The phoenix incorporates notions of life, rebirth and renewal. If you are contemplating a phoenix bird tattoo you need to take these values into account. Also, a phoenix bird of fire tattoo must be of sufficient size to make an impact. This is a magnificent bird and deserves respect - size is important. You simply can't represent the idea of eternal life with a small tattoo!

A Phoenix Tattoo Design is Hot!
By Tom Moore

Phoenix Tattoo DesignWith so many tattoo designs around it can be somewhat bewildering trying to figure out which one is right for you. There are many factors to take into account but, essentially, the most important factor is decoding the meaning behind the tattoo design. Ask yourself, "What does this design represent?" It's true that some tattoos are loads of fun and don't really have any significance - nothing wrong with that! But a phoenix tattoo doesn't really fall into that category. A phoenix tattoo design has a definite purpose and significance which you need to know about before going ahead and getting this tattoo design inked.

The Magnificent Phoenix

So who or what is the phoenix? Well, this mythological bird is extremely mystical and enigmatic. Because of this, it is a very popular motif in tattoo artwork around the world. This bird's origins are believed to lie in the ancient country of Ethiopia in Africa. The bird's name is connected with 'fire' and the color 'red.'

Phoenix Tattoo

Amongst other ideas, the phoenix incorporates notions of life, rebirth and renewal. This is a great symbol for 'starting again' or 'washing away the old.' If you are contemplating a phoenix bird tattoo you need to take these values into account. Also, a phoenix bird of fire tattoo must be of sufficient size to make an impact. This is a magnificent bird and deserves respect - size is important. You simply can't represent the idea of eternal life and rebirth with a small tattoo!

phoenixFinding a Suitable Design

If you have made up your mind to get a phoenix tattoo design, the next stage in your planning should involve research into finding a suitable design. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of tattoo galleries, both online and offline, from which you can choose your perfect phoenix tattoo. These galleries are usually full of color and are a pleasant way to while away the time as you make up your mind. However, try not to get too distracted by the dozens of alternative designs available. Stick to the phoenix design!

Vitally important in your final decision should be the color and size; you have to like the design, but it also has to coordinate and blend and all these elements must match if your design is to be esthetically pleasing. A balance is, therefore, needed: not too many similar or contrasting colors. Your tattoo will be with you for a long, long time so make sure it doesn't look awkward or out of place.

Tribal Phoenix Tattoo Designs

Finally, once you've decided on a phoenix tattoo design, you should spend a good deal of time with your chosen tattoo artist and explain exactly what it is that you are looking for and maybe even suggest a few alternate phoenix designs. Who knows, between you both you may come up with a new 'hybrid' phoenix design. It's a big decision, so take your time and 'live' with the various designs for a period of time before finally having it inked.

Lower Back Tattoos

Lower Back TattoosSo you want to look sexy, and hence decided to get a lower back tattoo? But before that, make sure you follow certain rules while selecting your tattoo design. Also, read through these tips for getting a "lower back tattoo".

Lower Back Tattoo - Look Sexy With the Right Tattoo Design
Sexy Girl With Lower Back Rose Tribal Tattoo

By Jay Aron

Let's cut to the chase. Lower back tattoos are meant for one reason alone - to make you look sexier. And unlike tattoo designs for other parts of your body, your lower back tattoo design needs extra attention during the selection process or else it will be a complete disaster.

Before getting a lower back tattoo, there are a few things to remember. The first and the foremost, which almost goes without saying, is to select the perfect tattoo design.

Sexy girl with a tattoo design of stars on the lower back and waist line Sexy girl with a lower back tattoo of a dolphin

A girl with a lower back tattoo of a butterfly and tribal tattoo designsA perfect design means two things over here. One, it should be a design which you like (and will hopefully like for years to come). Second, it needs to be the right shape and at the right place on your lower back. A V-shape tattoo design is normally best suited for the lower back. However for some people, having odd shapes like a butterfly is the way to go.

Trivia - Guess what design did Julia Roberts choose for her lower back tattoo?
Answer - A butterfly!
Another thing to keep in mind is deciding when to get the tattoo inked. A tattoo on your lower back needs extra planning. Be prepared to wear loose waist pants for a few days for the skin to heal. Don't get yourself inked if you are having a particularly busy month at work or home as the tattoo needs some time to heal, and the last thing you would want to do is mess up the design.

Like always, pay extra attention to the design you choose. Due to their shape and size, lower back tattoo designs are a different category all together compared to other tattoo designs. Go through as many design books or online galleries as you can. A lot of ladies like to go for Celtic, butterfly, dragon or flower tattoos. Though in my opinion, there is nothing better than a V-shaped design.

Swallow Tattoos

Swallow
Swallow tattoos are considered old school sailor tattoos. But they have been revived and are making a great comeback. Swallows symbolize freedom, love and loyalty. You see many people with "pairs of swallows", one looking forward and the other looking back, representing ending one chapter and starting a new chapter in life. You can use your imagination and come up with a unique twist to your swallow tattoos if you have the right tools. I'll tell you what those tools are.

Swallow Tattoos - Old School Sailor Tattoos Making a Comeback
By Tatum Tyler

Many people get swallow tattoos and sparrow tattoos confused. Swallow tattoos have a lot of symbolism associated with them. Swallows are known to return to the same place year after year. Many of us have heard of the swallows making their trip back to San Juan Capistrano every year. Sailors got swallow tattoos as a symbol that they would return home safely from a trip.
It was also believed that a swallow carried the souls of the dead away. So if a sailor did not return, a swallow carried their soul. Many people get swallow tattoos as in loving memory tattoos of fallen soldiers. A new sailor would get his first swallow tattoo after 5,000 miles, then another after the next 5,000.

It is believed that swallows mate for life so swallow tattoos represent the wearer's belief that he (or she) can find true love. If any of these symbols stir feelings in you then perhaps swallow tattoos are something that you should think about. You want your tattoo to be meaningful. A tattoo that you get just for looks wears off after awhile. A tattoo is meant to be with you for life so you want it to be personal.

Celtic tattoo designs are a popular and cool option when considering symbolic tattoos. There is no limit to the designs available or the art in question, so Celtic tattoos are a frequent choice with tattoo enthusiasts of all ages.

Celtic Tattoo

Celtic tattoos are based off of Celtic art. When used in reference to tattoos, the adjective "Celtic" is pretty much synonymous with "tribal." Not only are they considered stylish now and very popular, they are historically popular as well.

Celtic tattoo crossThe most popular Celtic designs are variations on the Celtic cross, which is typically a cross comprised of woven lines and a circle around the intersection of the lines of the cross. Also, the woven Celtic arm band is worn by both sexes with pride. Other popular designs classified as Celtic are the "Celtic knot" and the Claddaugh, which is the known Irish design that has two hands holding a heart.

Since Celtic culture dates back to six centuries BC, you can be sure that people have been getting Celtic tattoos since the inception of tattoos themselves. People today see Celtic tattoos as a way to connect with their roots by displaying an ornamental design.

Celtic and tribal art are the main inspiration for tattoos described as such. Celtic art is based heavily off of symbolism, and is not based in nature. The typically curved or woven lines are clean and monochromatic, with black being the standard. They vary greatly, and there really is no "typical" Celtic tattoo. Standard of the style, though, are thick lines full of asymmetrical, curved lines that frequently weave together.
